New bike self-service repair station installed

The Friends of Raven Rock State Park is pleased to announce the installation of a new bike self-service repair station, made possible through a generous financial grant from Friends of State Parks, completed this fall by park staff. The addition marks a significant upgrade to the park’s parking area and provides an important resource for the park’s many bike trail users.
Constructed of durable welded steel and cast aluminum, the fully equipped station features a range of tools connected to retractable steel cables, including Phillips and standard screwdrivers, a headset/pedal wrench, Torx T-25 tool, hex key set, and two steel-core tire levers. The station enables riders to perform quick adjustments and minor repairs, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable experience on the trails.
Park Superintendent Jacob Brown says that the new station will be an invaluable resource for cyclists who encounter last-minute maintenance needs while out on the trail. “Overall, it is a great way to say we appreciate and care for our visitors and hope that they continue to return,” Brown says. “Our trails receive a lot of use from regulars, particularly during the weekdays. Trail users report downed trees or other maintenance needs, which allows Raven Rock staff to go directly to the issue. It is nice to give back to them and help grow the biking community involved in the use of our trails.”
Cyclists have already shared positive feedback about the new addition, calling it “a great tool for a time of need” and noting, “If I forget something, it is nice to know it doesn’t have to ruin my ride.”
Park staff and the Friends of Raven Rock extend their sincere gratitude to Friends of State Parks for their continued support. Grants and donations play a vital role in helping us be the best stewards of our state park—enhancing amenities, supporting visitor services, and protecting the natural resources entrusted to our care.
